Can you share your experiences on how technology is being used in teaching and learning in your school?

Answer: Technological development is marching us forward. With the help of Education Ministry we are establishing ICT lab, Language club and multimedia classrooms.We are free to use internet in the school with the guidance of our teachers. We have computer lab in our school with internet facilities. Students are allowed to use them. We have ICT teacher who is supposed to be always with the students. We are shown educational web sites and we explore them and download necessary pictures, texts and music.
Downloading study materials and supporting materials ia a part of our study.Before downloading we tell our teachers and they guide us. We tell them why these are necessary. Sometimes we get the warning while opening a site written that there are blocked images in the sites. Are you sure to open it? Our teachers usually tell not to open the sites as there are many viruses in the blocked sites.
Recently Education Ministry has arranged training for all the teachers gradually to be mastered in the use of ICT in Education. Many of our teachers are well trained on ICT in education. They make digital contents and make lesson plan in a digitalized way, adding videos, pictures, animations. We enjoy this class very much. We have 12 DIGITAL classrooms with multimedia projectors and computers and internet.
In our syllabus the use of ICT is included. We are given assignment on ICT subject and our parents also help us to prepare them. They allow us to use internet. Our parents usually don’t allow using internet at home but there are many parents they allow. They are considerate. We can use internet in school when we have an ICT class. We can also use them when any teacher likes to conduct a class using lesson making digital contents, i.e some videos are shown and related to topics.
During our off period or leisure, we can use internet and the ICT teacher guides us. Many spoil computers and malpractice those so teachers are careful about this. We are given assignment on power point presentation and we have to do and present them in class. We enjoy our ICT class and sometimes we play games to relax. Our teachers give us free class means we can play games and listen to music that helps us to remove boredom.

Technology is used in our school in form of computers, internet and screen projectors.
On those screen protectors can teachers show ther computer screen and show video's or can be used to learn words and grammar together.
We are allowed to use the computers during schooltime and during lessons. We use them for practising our languages and studying. Or we use them to look up information on the internet if we have to do special assignments or when we have to make powerpoint presentations.
When we use the screen projector to watch a movie we always have to make an extra assignment on paper to show our teacher we understood what the movie was about.
We think it is fun to learn and study with technology because it is easier than writing everything by hand or looking everything up in books.

Can you share your experiences on how technology is being used in teaching and learning in your school?
Answer - Yes, yes I can - during some assemblies teachers do presentations to make it easier us children(mainly the younger ones ) to understand what the concept of the lesson/ assembly was. During a teachers free time they sometimes make overheads(a clear piece of plastic ,a bit harder than usual plastic,that has words on it ) so during class they show it on a overhead (machine that shows over heads) so we can copy it in our books, instead sometimes worksheets. This machine makes teaching easier and also the preparation that the teacher needs to do before their classes. This also saves a lot of paper when teachers uses this, because the learners can write into their books the information that are displayed on the overhead projector, so no paper is used to paste information into our scripts. I am sure that teachers also finds it a lot of fun to use overhead projectors as well.

Can you share your experiences on how technology is being used in teaching and learning in your school?
Answer - Yes. Many teachers now a day uses smart boards. These smart boards are very interactive and it allows the user to write and erase information on the board in real time and save the information to a file that can be opened at a later stage when the information is required again. Pictures of frogs can also be used to demonstrate how the frog is dissected. The writing tool is used as a scalpel and the frog is cut open and the learners can see what organs and insides the frog has. Learners themselves can also come to the front of the classroom and see the information and edit and add information to it. This makes the learning environment open for learners to also add their ideas. This is what teaching and learning should be about because the teacher should not only preach but the learner should also learn himself and teach the other learners what he knows.

New technology – computers, Internet, digital camera, mobile phones definitely changed the way we learn and are taught.
Teaching
We asked a few teachers from our school, how do they use ICT in their work. The answers were:
- downloading material from the Internet
- preparing their own tests, crosswords or other activities for pupils
- taking photos on different school celebrations
- preparing school assemblies (multimedia projector)

Learning
- we often use the Internet while doing homework, especially writing essays in German, English or French
- sometimes we take picture of the blackboard instead of copying the homework
- we prepare presentations in Power Point
- from time to time we watch films on lessons and sometimes we listen to the songs (on foreign languages lessons)
- we take parts in different project (just like digital generation!) and competitions and some of them require ICT devices

Can you share your experiences on how technology is being used in teaching and learning in your school?
ANSWERS
In nearly every classroom we have got computers. We have also got interactive boards in some classrooms. During English lessons we usually need computers and interactive boards for easier and more interesting teaching and learning. During some lessons like Technology, Geography, History and Natural Science we sometimes watch Power-Point presentations or TV.
Teachers use computers a lot for writing down our marks, elective subjects, the number of lessons we were absent from school, printing our reports etc. Some teachers communicate with our parents or us through e-mails. We like lessons during which "e-competent" teachers illustrate the topics with some pictures, diagrams, songs, videos ...
Our school is not a very big one. Perhaps you can have a picture of it if we write the number of rooms and the numbers of ICT facilities in them.

Technology education in my school is very diverse. Everything depends on the complexity of the topic. If the topic is too difficult, or theme has a lot of features and information to remember, the teacher acts as follows: First, the teacher explains to us the subject. Then he shows us the educational film, which shows us all that we heard from the teacher. On the next lesson we will discuss what we saw and heard. After that the individual work, and then the control test.
